Greetings Adventurers!
Way back in 2013 I posted the article Small Cups/Pots for the SUL/XUL Hiker and it has been one of my more popular articles so I thought it was time to give it some TLC.
Over the last few days I have updated the spreadsheet to remove discontinued cups/pots, update pricing, update weights, add a few extra currencies, add some notes, and just do a generalized clean-up on it.
I decided to stay with the previous four guidelines:
- It must be at or under 450 ml in volume.
- It must be at or under 100 grams in weight.
- It cannot be a beer can style cup/pot.
- It must be one of the common cups/pots used by sub 2268 hikers.
It is by no means a list of every cup/pot out there that meets those requirements, but it is a list of the ones that best meet those requirements, especially #4.
Access Spreadsheet/Chart:
You can view the spreadsheet/chart right here – it is a google spreadsheet.
Hope this helps those of you looking for small cups/pots for your next adventure!
Thanks,
+John Abela

You can embed Google Sheets onto a webpage. More user friendly than pulling up another tab. Look under File, for Publish to web.
Hey Andrew, last I checked there was no way to make iframes responsive via non self hosted wordpress. Do you know of a way to do this?
I will keep an eye out for small hikers. When I see them I will check their cups if they will permit that. Cheers and happy trails.
Hey! Was over on Alpkits site a few days ago and their ‘Mytimug’ is available ranging from 400-900ml. I’m assuming the SUL size you added to the spreadsheet under “discontinued” was the 400.
Listed specs are-
Weight w/o lid 62gms
Lid weight 12gms
USD 21.67
I have the 650 and like it for allowing me to boil enough at one time for meals and coffee/espresso.
